The Namibia Hockey Union has confirmed that its men's and women's premier leagues will start on the same weekend, giving supporters a full day of hockey at a single venue.

Four clubs will contest each league. The opening round pits Windhoek against Swakopmund in the men's competition, with Walvis Bay hosting Oshakati in the women's.

Union officials say the aim is to grow participation and prepare players for international fixtures. Entry to the opening weekend is free.
