Namibia's women's tennis team finished seventh at this year's Billie Jean King Cup Africa Group III event in Gaborone, staying in the group but finishing above four larger nations.

Joanivia Bezuidenhout was one of the standout performers, winning her singles against Burundi and Cameroon. The team's captain says the focus now turns to building a deeper squad of players who can win at singles and doubles.

The Namibia Tennis Association is planning a series of national tournaments through the year to give younger players match experience before the next tie.
